Stoking, tights or pantyhose: what's the difference?
In Malaysia, "stoking" usually means pantyhose or tights. Both cover you from waist to toe. Pantyhose tend to be sheer, while tights tend to be thicker. Stockings stop at the thigh.
What do 5D, 200D and 400D mean?
D stands for denier, the thickness of the yarn. Low numbers like 3D or 5D look sheer. Around 40D is semi-opaque. 200D and 400D are thick, opaque and warmer, good for cold offices or trips to cold countries.
